Putup: Pushup Challenge · Privacy Policy
Effective October 24, 2026.
Overview
Putup is a pushup challenge you put your own money on. You stake 10, 25 or 50, in US dollars or euros, do your pushups every day for 30 days (100 a day, or 50 if you're starting out), and get the whole stake back when you finish. Putup is run by Alexander Ramirez Blonski, who publishes it on the App Store, and Guillermo Ramirez Blonski, who runs its servers and payments ("we", "us").
This policy explains what Putup collects, why, who else handles it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what we need to run your challenge, we never sell your information, and the app has no ads and no analytics trackers. Using Putup also means agreeing to its Terms of Use and Official Challenge Rules, both in the app.
What we collect
| Information | Examples | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Your Sign in with Apple user ID. Putup does not ask Apple for your name or email. | Creating your account and signing you in |
| Profile | Username; optional display name, bio, Instagram and TikTok usernames, phone number and profile photo | So other people can find and recognize you |
| Challenge and workout activity | Stake amount and currency, daily target, start and end dates, the time zone you started in, days completed or skipped, daily pushup counts, your rep count while a set is in progress, your all-time total | Running your challenge, deciding your refund, and the leaderboard |
| Progress photos | Before and after photos you choose to add | Your own progress record, and the Transformations wall if you make yours public |
| Payment references | Stake amount, Stripe payment and refund identifiers | Charging your stake and refunding it. Card details go only to Stripe. |
| Social activity | Friends and friend requests, the Lets go!, fire and nudges you send and receive, people you block | The social features |
| Get inspired videos | Which videos you sent fire to, how many taps, and when | Showing each video's shared fire count |
We also keep a push notification token for your device (see Notifications), any reports you file about another user (who you reported and why), used only for moderation, and the emails you send to support, so we can answer them. Putup does not collect your location, contacts, browsing history or advertising identifier.
The camera and rep counting
Reps are counted on your phone, in the moment, using the front camera's depth sensing (on phones that have it) and on-device face detection. Nothing is photographed, recorded, stored or sent anywhere. No images, video, depth or face data ever leave your phone, and the only thing saved is the number of pushups you did. The camera runs only while you have a set open and stops as soon as you leave that screen.
How we use your information
- Run your challenge: track your days, show your progress, and settle your stake when it ends.
- Charge your stake when you start and refund it when you finish.
- Show your progress on your profile, to friends and on the leaderboard, and deliver Lets go!, fire and nudges.
- Remind you at noon, 10 PM and 11 PM on days your set isn't done. These reminders are scheduled on your own phone.
- Answer support requests, review reports, and prevent fraud and abuse of the challenge.
We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build profiles of you for anyone else, and we do not sell or rent it.
Payments
Stripe, Inc. processes all payments. Your card number goes directly from your phone to Stripe and never touches our servers. We store only the stake amount and Stripe's reference numbers for the payment and the refund. Refunds for completed challenges go back to the card you paid with. Stripe also collects some device information to prevent fraud, as described in Stripe's privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy).
Deleting your account during a challenge counts as quitting it. The challenge ends immediately and your stake is not refunded. The app shows you this warning, with the exact amount at stake, before you confirm. To keep your refund, finish the challenge (or cancel before day 1 starts) before you delete your account.
Services Putup relies on
| Service | What it does | What it handles |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in and file storage | Everything listed under "What we collect" |
| Stripe | Payment processing | Card details, payment and refund records |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, push notifications and iOS itself | Your Apple sign-in, and delivering notifications to your device |
These providers may process your information on their cloud infrastructure in the United States or other countries. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no ad networks and no data brokers.
What other users can see
Any signed-in user can find you by username and see your username, your display name if you added one, your bio, your Instagram and TikTok usernames, your join date and your profile photo. Your phone number is never shown to anyone.
Any signed-in user, except people you have blocked, can see your challenge progress (which days you completed or skipped), your rep count while a set is in progress, and your all-time total on the leaderboard. Friends also see your progress on their home screen and can send you Lets go!, fire and nudges.
Your before and after photos are private: only you can see them, unless you set your transformation to public. Then signed-in Putup users, except people you have blocked, can see them. They are stored privately, and every link to them expires after an hour.
People you block can't see your profile, progress, photos or live rep count, and you won't see theirs.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your own phone and come at noon, 10 PM and 11 PM on days your set isn't done. Friend adds, Lets go!, fire, nudges, and the message telling you your refund is ready to collect arrive as push notifications through Apple's push service. To deliver them, we store a push token for your device, and it is removed when you sign out. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings at any time.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. Profile → Settings → Delete account permanently removes your profile, photos, challenges and history, friends, Lets go!, fire and nudges, devices and notification history, and revokes Putup's Sign in with Apple access.
We keep records of your payments (amounts, dates, status, and Stripe payment and refund identifiers) for as long as the law requires for accounting, tax and disputes, and Stripe keeps its own transaction records as financial regulations require. Deleting your account during an active challenge counts as quitting it, so the stake is not refunded. The Official Challenge Rules in the app apply.
Your rights
You can see and edit your profile in the app, and delete everything yourself with Delete account. You can also email us (see Contact) to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and we will handle it directly.
If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland
Alexander Ramirez Blonski and Guillermo Ramirez Blonski are joint controllers of your personal data under the GDPR (and the UK and Swiss equivalents). You can contact either of us at the address below about anything in this policy. We rely on these legal bases:
- Contract: to create your account and run your challenge, your payments and the social features you use.
- Legitimate interests: to keep Putup safe, prevent fraud and abuse, review reports and answer support requests.
- Legal obligation: to keep payment records for accounting and tax.
- Consent: for push notifications, which iOS asks you about. You can withdraw it in iOS Settings at any time.
You have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to how it is processed, and receive it in a portable format. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live. We reply to requests within one month.
When our providers process your data outside these regions, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
If you are in California or another US state with a privacy law
We do not sell or share personal information as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines those terms, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. You can ask to know, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing us, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
Putup is not for children. You must be 17 or older to use it, as the Terms of Use say, and starting a challenge requires a payment method in your own name. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger than that. If we learn that we have, we will delete the account.
Security
All traffic between the app and its servers is encrypted in transit. Database access rules limit every account to exactly the data described above, progress photos are stored privately behind links that expire, and payments are handled by Stripe under PCI DSS. No system is perfectly secure. If you find a problem, please email us.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the current version always lives at this address. For material changes, we will tell you in the app before they take effect.
